BRANDING, GRAPHIC DESIGN, MARKETING, PROTOTYPING, UI DESIGN, WEB DEVELOPMENT, MERCH DESIGN
I improved outreach and public awareness of the troupe through rebranding with a new logo, improving our online presence through consistently designing and posting on social media, designing, prototyping, and developing a website, reaching out for sponsorships, planning and coordinating events and performances, designing and selling merchandise, and reorganizing our internals for more efficient and scalable performance and event planning.
By improving outreach, NEU Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe has been able to operate more sustainably and increase performance requests by over 500% in one year, allowing us to spread and teach dragon dance, lion dance, and traditional Chinese instruments which are increasingly rare yet important aspects of Chinese culture.
Formerly known as the Northeastern University Dragon Dance Troupe, after obtaining lion dance equipment and beginning performing lion dances in the Boston community, the troupe needed to rebrand itself to incorporate this change. I redesign the logo and rebranded the troupe as the Northeastern University Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe, which included designing business cards, posters, and other marketing material.

I then incorporated the redesigned branding to create social media posts to share on Instagram and Facebook, which had previously not been posted on consistently, and created posts promoting our organization, upcoming performances and practices, and showcasing our performances. After implementing the new branding and creating consistent content that was both informational and visually pleasing, engagement on Instagram increased by over 500% organically.

WEBSITE DESIGN + DEVELOPMENT
In order to improve outreach, credibility, and make our organization easily discoverable on the internet, I decided to create a website which would contain more information about the organization, our members, our past performances, our schedule, how to join (for members of the Northeastern University community), and for inquiring about performances.
